At Veldskoen Shoes Canada we believe that everyone deserves to feel supported in their journey toward living their fullest life. For us this starts with our youth, and connecting them with opportunities to further their education and literacy. This is why we donate 1% of our profits to Education Without Borders (EwB). EwB provides after-school mentorship and tutoring programs to disadvantaged and at-risk youth in Canada and South Africa.
The organization started their first project after its founders volunteered at Fezeka High School, located in a black township in Cape Town, South Africa. They made a promise to never forget the experience, and returned a number of years later to build classrooms, bathroom facilities, and a computer lab. Today, EwB has affiliations around the globe, working collaboratively towards supporting local communities as well as those in need in South Africa, the home of Veldskoen Shoes. Not only do the EwB programs and facilities positively impact the students' grades, but they also feel an increased sense of confidence which sets them up for a bright future.
